These updates will celebrate The Old Republic's tenth anniversary and run throughout 2022, featuring new events and other surprises.

As with past SWTOR expansions, BioWare will continue to provide new content in the months to come. The experience of Legacy of the Sith will start off this holiday season, but it's not a singular update. This streamlined experience comes alongside updates to itemization and loadouts and an updated class design interface upon new character creation. This allows those who prefer a specific gameplay style to play through other stories while holding onto their beloved skills. Now, a Han Solo-type Smuggler will be able to use other gun-toting attacks while still playing out the same campaign. Both new and returning players can mix and match the stories for each class with abilities picked from other related classes. This expands how players can customize their Star Wars avatar. In addition to new missions, SWTOR: Legacy of the Sith will debut a new feature called Combat Styles. The expansion also introduces new opportunities for players to team up via a Flashpoint set on the mountainous planet of Elom and an Operation that takes place inside a deep space research station. Vehicles are best countered by rocket troops/vehicles. For example, stormtroopers are best taken out by anti-infantry suppression units. Players will see a level cap increase to 80 in this new story section and experience some of the hardest challenges in all of The Old Republic. From watching Captain Shack of the XP Gamers channel, I've seen him crush ground armies bigger than his by countering specific units with appropriate units. SWTOR's Legacy of the Sith will take players to the aquatic planet of Manaan, continuing the overall story of Old Republic's expansions by persuing Darth Malgus, a powerful Sith of legend. Several months ago, work completed on The Dark Descent, the final story beat for Onslaught's campaign. The Old Republic's last major expansion came in 2019 with Onslaught, and BioWare has been hard at work on several chapters of that expansion in the time since its release. Whether venturing the galaxy as a Jedi Consular or an Imperial Agent, there are plenty of adventures to be had in this free-to-play Star Wars Universe.

Star Wars: The Old Republicwill soon mark ten years of existence, and the developers at BioWare have cooked up the Legacy of the Sith expansion to celebrate.
